What Grading System Is Used For The Music On This Site?
To help teachers and students, the pieces on this website are graded into levels that are comparable to the popular Bastien and Alfred Piano Library books.
Unfortunately there is no universal standard when it comes to grading pieces and given the many different examination systems around the world, any grading can only be approximate.
Teaching experience and comparing the difficulty of the pieces used in method books and examination syllabii is necessary when grading, as it is quite common to find a piece listed as Grade 2 in one syllabus and as Grade 3 in another.

If a Letter of Permissions is required for adjudicators at competitions and Eisteddfods, please Contact or email Support and one will be emailed to you.
Information For Teachers Purchasing On Behalf Of Students
Private piano teachers purchasing music on behalf of a student may print 2 copies of the purchased download: one to be given to the student and one to keep for their own use and reference during the students lesson.
The downloaded file purchased on behalf of a student must be transferred to any appropriate medium (such as a USB stick supplied by the student) and given the student for whom the purchase was made. Teachers must also make the student aware of the copyright restrictions as stated above and that the downloaded file is for backup purposes only: to be used to replace an original printed copy that has been lost or damaged in some way.
Why Are There 2 Paper Sizes? Which size should I choose?
Most printers have a 'Fit To Paper' option in the Print Dialogue or Print Properties section to allow any size to be printed but sometimes it can alter the appearance of the score.
To avoid the 'Fit To Paper' option and ensure optimal printouts, all music is available in both European A4 and US Letter Size (LS).
If you live in Europe or the rest of the world you should choose A4. If you live in the US, you should choose Letter Size.
If you are not sure which is best, test printouts can be done using any of the free resources or theory worksheets.
How Good Is The Quality Of The Printouts?
All music is formatted as high quality PDFs. The final printed version will be of much higher quality than the previews.
Printout quality also depends on your printer settings. Test printouts can be made using any of the free resources or theory worksheets.
